Engineering Design
Any part can be drawn. Making it is another matter.
Turning concepts into producible technical designs with CAD models, calculations and drawings. The result is a released design data set for prototypes and production.
Usual
What you often get
The mechanics come from an engineering firm that works to the specification and delivers data. Someone else does the electronics and firmware, and alignment happens by email. Whether it all fits together only shows with the prototype, and then it gets expensive.
IntoOps
What you get from us
Mechanics, electronics and embedded software come from one team, with shared design states and one point of contact. We calculate and simulate before any material is ordered. We manage prototyping as well, so the data goes to the workshop without detours.
Service components
5 components. Each one available on its own.
-
3D models, assemblies and technical drawings.
-
Circuit design and printed circuit boards.
-
Software running on the product's electronics.
-
Strength, thermal and flow calculations, for example FEM.
-
Choosing materials and purchased parts for function and cost.
What you'll have at the end. Results you can check.
- A versioned design state with a bill of materials that production and purchasing can read.
- Schematics, PCB layout and manufacturing data for the electronics.
- Working firmware with source code and documentation, in your repository.
- Calculation reports that show where the part has margins and where it doesn't.
- A reasoned selection of materials and purchased parts, with tested alternatives.
When you need this. And how you'll know.
- Your team has the concept but no capacity for the detailed design.
- You lack specialists for electronics or firmware in your own team.
- A part breaks, overheats or costs too much, and the cause remains a mystery.
- You have design data from a previous contractor that nobody understands any more.
Rarely alone. Never bundled.
Engineering Design often works together with these services. We'll tell you honestly when a combination makes sense, and when it doesn't.
Shows up in these initiatives.
You don't need a whole initiative to get Engineering Design. These examples show where the service is often needed.
Good questions. Straight answers.
Do you work in our CAD system?
Yes. We work in your system and data structure, or deliver in the formats your team needs. The data belongs to you, with every revision.
Can you take on just the electronics?
Yes. Every component is available on its own. We then align the interfaces to mechanics and software with your team or your existing contractors.
Do you design for series production straight away?
Yes, as far as this phase allows. We check processes, tolerances and purchased parts early with our industrialisation specialists.
The design gets its final polish there, together with the manufacturers.
Do you also build the app for the device?
Yes, through our software development team. The firmware on the device is built here, apps, cloud and portals there. Both define the interfaces between device and app together before any code is written.
Proof first. Contract second.
In the free Initiative Check, we listen for 45 minutes and ask the questions that usually only come up after the contract is signed. Then you get a short written assessment: what we see, how we would go about it and roughly what it would take.
No obligation. And if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
