Scaling the company
Chaos grows faster than revenue. If you let it.
Preparing organisation, processes, systems, team and steering so that more volume does not mean proportionally more effort.
The situation
“We want to grow without everything getting chaotic.”
Demand is there, the team is growing, and so are the orders. Yet every month feels tighter than the last.
- Processes live in a few people's heads, not in a handbook.
- Data is copied by hand between spreadsheets and systems.
- Almost every decision lands on the same desk.
Anyone new takes months to learn how things work here. And with every extra order, one thing grows above all: the number of exceptions.
Where it often goes wrong.
-
Big-company structures in miniature
Org charts, committees and approval rounds are copied from large corporations. What creates order there slows down the very speed that made the growth possible.
-
Hiring when it's already burning
Roles only get filled once work is already piling up. By the time the new person is up to speed, the bottleneck has moved elsewhere.
-
Steering by gut feeling
Figures arrive late and contradict each other. Hiring and investment decisions are made on instinct, in exactly the phase where mistakes cost the most.
-
Three big projects at once
New structure, new system and new processes all start together. Day-to-day operations suffer, and in the end none of the projects is really finished.
Which disciplines work together here.
5 of 13 disciplines, one team, one point of contact. Every service has a clear role, and you decide which ones we take on.
-
D04 Consulting
-
Defines what stays in-house, what gets outsourced and how the company is steered.
-
Distributes roles, responsibilities and decision rights so management doesn't become the bottleneck.
-
Documents core processes so they can be learned, and removes duplicate work.
-
-
D08 HR & Recruiting
-
Derives from the growth plan which roles are needed when, and what they cost.
-
Fills the roles that carry the growth, from team leads to specialists.
-
Digitises hiring, onboarding and HR administration so HR can keep pace with the team.
-
-
D09 IT & Digital
-
Selects and implements business software once spreadsheets and isolated tools no longer cope.
-
Automates recurring steps so more orders don't automatically mean more manual work.
-
-
D05 Operations & Fulfilment
-
Rebuilds order processing, logistics or service when volume outgrows the old setup.
-
-
D11 Finance & Accounting
-
Sets up planning and monthly reporting so growth is steered, not just recorded.
-
You decide the scope.
Some start with the tightest bottleneck: monthly reporting, order processing or the next hires. Others want a target picture for organisation and processes first, then implement it with us step by step. Either way, it's a complete engagement, with no package attached.
Good questions. Straight answers.
Do we need a new ERP system first?
Not necessarily. Clear processes and targeted automation are often enough to begin with. If an ERP is due, we choose it to fit the processes, not the other way round.
If it's mainly about manual work and broken handovers between systems, digitalising processes may fit too.
Can this happen while day-to-day business continues?
Yes, it rarely works any other way. We rebuild in stages, starting where the pressure is highest. Each stage is handed over before the next one starts, so operations stay stable.
Can you also find the people we need?
Yes. We work out from the workforce plan whom you need and when, and run the search through to the signed contract. If growing the team is the main goal, building a team fits even better.
Aren't we too small for this kind of change?
No. Small companies feel missing structure early, because everyone wears several hats.
Structure doesn't have to be heavy: a documented process, a clear responsibility, a monthly report. You commission only what's due now, with no minimum size.
Will we depend on you afterwards?
No. Processes and system settings are documented, and your team has been trained. Whether we stay involved afterwards, for instance with monthly reporting or the next hiring round, is your call.
Proof first. Contract second.
In the free Initiative Check, we listen for 45 minutes and ask the questions that usually only come up after the contract is signed. Then you get a short written assessment: what we see, how we would go about it and roughly what it would take.
No obligation. And if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
