Prototyping

A prototype should find mistakes. Not applause.

Planning and coordinating the building of prototypes and small batches with suitable manufacturing partners. The result is physical prototypes or pre-series parts with documented build status.

Usual

What you often get

You find a workshop yourself, send data and wait. When the part arrives, it no longer matches the design, because two changes have been made in the meantime. And later, nobody knows which version was actually tested.

IntoOps

What you get from us

First we define what a sample needs to prove, then the process and the partner from our network. We manage data, ordering, schedules and quality. Every sample comes with its exact design and material status, so testing & validation knows what's on the test bench.

Service components

3 components. Each one available on its own.

  1. Rapid prototyping & 3D printing

  2. Functional prototypes

  3. Pre-series & small batches

What you'll have at the end. Results you can check.

  • A sample plan: what each prototype should clarify, with which process and in what quantity.
  • Comparable quotes from suitable manufacturing partners, rated on process, lead time and cost.
  • Models and functional prototypes, checked on arrival for dimensions and completeness.
  • A record for each sample with design status, material and deviations.
  • Pre-series parts for testing, approval or pilot customers, with feedback on manufacturability.

When you need this. And how you'll know.

  • The design is done, and you want to see it hold up in real use.
  • You need samples for a trade fair, a field test or a customer meeting.
  • Your usual workshop is at capacity, and every sample arrives later than planned.
  • An approval requires parts that match later series production.
  • You want to compare variants before ordering expensive series tooling.

Rarely alone. Never bundled.

Good questions. Straight answers.

Do you print and mill the samples yourselves?

No. Prototypes and pre-series are made by partners in our network, depending on process and material. We select them, appoint them and manage data, schedules and quality.

That way you get the right process, not whatever happens to be in-house.

Will you build prototypes from our own design data?

Yes, if the data is complete. We first check it for manufacturability in the chosen process and tell you what's missing before anything is ordered. Usually, though, prototyping is part of a wider development engagement.

Will you keep working with our current workshop?

Yes. We then handle the data, ordering and coordination, and your workshop builds as before. For processes it doesn't offer, we bring in partners from our network.

Do we see the cost of samples in advance?

Yes. We get quotes for every sample and show them to you before anything is ordered.

Our effort for planning and management is listed separately. So you see what production costs and what coordination costs.

Can you also find the series supplier?

Yes, through supplier sourcing. Pre-series can already be made by a potential series supplier. Then the pre-series also shows whether that supplier can handle series production.

Proof first. Contract second.

In the free Initiative Check, we listen for 45 minutes and ask the questions that usually only come up after the contract is signed. Then you get a short written assessment: what we see, how we would go about it and roughly what it would take.

No obligation. And if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
