Technical Documentation
Nobody reads the manual. Until something goes wrong.
Writing and maintaining the documentation a product needs for use, service and conformity. The result is complete, standard-compliant documentation in the required languages.
Usual
What you often get
The operating instructions get written just before delivery, from the last version and a few photos. The risk assessment sits somewhere else, the translation with the cheapest agency. Whether it all matches the current product is, at worst, checked by market surveillance.
IntoOps
What you get from us
Technical writing that starts during the design phase, not after release. Instructions, risk assessment and technical file come from the same data, and every product change also lands in the documentation. Plus spare parts catalogues your after-sales service can actually work with.
Service components
4 components. Each one available on its own.
-
Instructions for safe installation, use and maintenance.
-
Risk assessment and technical file for CE conformity.
-
Spare parts catalogues and service manuals.
-
Documentation in all required languages.
What you'll have at the end. Results you can check.
- Instructions that describe safety, operation and maintenance clearly and to standard.
- A risk assessment with hazards, measures and residual risks, documented traceably.
- Technical files organised for the declaration of conformity and requests from authorities.
- Spare parts catalogues and service manuals with unambiguous part numbers.
- Documentation in the languages of your target markets, with consistent terminology.
When you need this. And how you'll know.
- Your product is finished, but the instructions and CE documents are still missing.
- The manual describes a version that no longer exists.
- You're expanding into new countries and need the documentation in more languages.
- Service keeps calling engineering because documents are missing.
Rarely alone. Never bundled.
Technical Documentation often works together with these services. We'll tell you honestly when a combination makes sense, and when it doesn't.
Shows up in these initiatives.
You don't need a whole initiative to get Technical Documentation. These examples show where the service is often needed.
Good questions. Straight answers.
Will you handle the CE marking for us?
No. The declaration of conformity is signed by the manufacturer, which means your company.
We prepare the risk assessment and technical file so you know what you're signing. If a notified body has to be involved, we coordinate that through testing & validation.
Can you revise our existing manuals?
Yes. Starting from scratch is rarely necessary. We check the existing material against the current product and standards, add what's missing and cut what nobody needs.
Do you take care of translations as well?
Yes. Translation and localisation are a component in their own right. We ensure consistent terminology and check that warnings, units and references to standards suit the target market.
Can the documentation be digital?
Yes, where the law allows it. Whether printed, PDF or online depends on the product, the regulations and the audience. Digital instructions are easier to keep up to date, so we raise the option.
Proof first. Contract second.
In the free Initiative Check, we listen for 45 minutes and ask the questions that usually only come up after the contract is signed. Then you get a short written assessment: what we see, how we would go about it and roughly what it would take.
No obligation. And if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
