Procurement Strategy & Organisation

Everyone buys well. Nobody buys together.

Creating transparency on spend and deciding how each category is bought and how procurement is organised. The result is a documented procurement strategy with category plans and savings potential.

Usual

What you often get

Consultants analyse the spend, draw a matrix and leave behind a list of levers. What gets implemented is whatever fits around the day job. Before long, nobody remembers the new policy.

IntoOps

What you get from us

With us, every lever becomes a task with a deadline and an owner. We implement tenders, framework agreements and approval workflows ourselves, with supplier sourcing and operational purchasing in the same team. And savings only count once they show up in the accounts.

Service components

5 components. Each one available on its own.

  1. Spend analysis

  2. Category strategies

  3. Procurement organisation & processes

  4. Make-or-buy analysis

  5. Procurement policy

What you'll have at the end. Results you can check.

  • A cleaned-up spend overview by category, supplier and cost centre.
  • A plan for every important category, with actions, deadlines and an owner.
  • A procurement organisation with defined roles, approval limits and documented processes.
  • An approved procurement policy, rolled out and explained to the team.
  • Make-or-buy decisions with a full cost comparison and risk assessment.
  • A list of savings levers with estimated potential and stated assumptions.

When you need this. And how you'll know.

  • Departments order on their own, and nobody knows the total spend.
  • Costs are rising, and management wants to know where procurement has room to move.
  • Procurement has grown with the company, but roles and approvals haven't.
  • You're weighing up making a part in-house or outsourcing a service.
  • After an acquisition, two purchasing teams buy the same things from different suppliers.

Rarely alone. Never bundled.

Good questions. Straight answers.

Is our purchasing team involved in the strategy?

Yes, from the start. Your purchasing team knows the suppliers, the history and the pitfalls, and we use that.

We bring method, data and the time that day-to-day work doesn't leave. Your team makes the decisions; we prepare them and help implement them.

Does the spend analysis need clean data?

No. We work with data from accounting and ERP, even when it's incomplete, and clean it up. At the end, you have a structure you can keep updating yourself.

Is the make-or-buy analysis available on its own?

Yes. We compare in-house production and buying with all costs, including the hidden ones: set-up times, quality, tied-up capital, dependency. You decide, based on numbers your controlling team can follow.

Will you write our procurement policy too?

Yes, and we roll it out. A policy only works once approvals are set up in the system and departments know it. The system set-up is handled by operational procurement.

Proof first. Contract second.

In the free Initiative Check, we listen for 45 minutes and ask the questions that usually only come up after the contract is signed. Then you get a short written assessment: what we see, how we would go about it and roughly what it would take.

No obligation. And if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
