Business Analysis & Decision Support
Analysis without a recommendation is research. We commit to one.
Investigating a business question, structuring requirements and options and evaluating them economically. The result is a decision paper with facts, options, business case and recommendation.
Usual
What you often get
A study covering every option, neatly compared, each with pros and cons. The recommendation is hedged, and the risk stays with you. And the business case gets recalculated until it fits the decision that had already been made.
IntoOps
What you get from us
A recommendation we justify and stand behind, with assumptions and calculations in the open. Your team can check every figure. And once the decision is made, we implement it, for software with our own IT strategy & architecture specialists.
Service components
6 components. Where a licence is required, we coordinate.
Marked components require a licence, so they always come as part of a wider engagement. Licensed partners carry them out; we appoint them on your behalf and coordinate.
-
Facts, causes and interdependencies of a business problem.
-
Business requirements documented for projects and systems.
-
Costs, benefits, risks and payback of an investment or project.
-
Economic and organisational feasibility of a plan.
-
Comparing options against criteria and preparing the decision.
-
Assessing the market and business plan of an acquisition target; financial and legal parts by licensed professionals.
Note: Statutory audits, assurance of sustainability reports and financial due diligence are handled by audit firms. We appoint them on your behalf and coordinate.
Legal advice and the drafting and review of contracts are handled by law firms. We appoint them on your behalf and coordinate.
What you'll have at the end. Results you can check.
- A problem statement with data, causes and sources, agreed with everyone involved.
- Documented requirements, signed off jointly by the business and IT.
- A business case as a transparent calculation model, with scenarios for the key assumptions.
- A decision paper of a few pages: options, criteria, assessment and recommendation.
When you need this. And how you'll know.
- A major investment is coming up, and your leadership team disagrees.
- A software project starts soon, and its requirements have only been agreed verbally.
- Your bank wants to see a business case before any money moves.
- A problem has been costing money for months, and every department explains it differently.
- You're considering buying a company and want an independent view of its market and plans.
Rarely alone. Never bundled.
Business Analysis & Decision Support often works together with these services. We'll tell you honestly when a combination makes sense, and when it doesn't.
Shows up in these initiatives.
You don't need a whole initiative to get Business Analysis & Decision Support. These examples show where the service is often needed.
Good questions. Straight answers.
Will you stick to an uncomfortable recommendation?
Yes. A paper that agrees with every opinion in the room helps nobody.
We back our recommendation with figures and also say what speaks against it. The decision is yours, but you won't have to make it in the dark.
Do you assess companies we want to buy?
Yes, as part of a wider engagement. We assess the target's market, competition and business plan ourselves.
Financial and legal due diligence is handled by audit firms and law firms. We appoint them on your behalf and coordinate all parts.
Do you write requirements for software projects too?
Yes. We write them with the business and IT, so that offers become comparable and the project has clear acceptance criteria. Whether you then tender or build with our software development team is up to you.
Isn't a quick estimate often enough?
Sometimes, yes. For small, reversible decisions, a one-page calculation is often enough, and we'll tell you so.
A thorough analysis pays off when a lot of money gets tied up or a mistake would be hard to undo.
Proof first. Contract second.
In the free Initiative Check, we listen for 45 minutes and ask the questions that usually only come up after the contract is signed. Then you get a short written assessment: what we see, how we would go about it and roughly what it would take.
No obligation. And if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
