Business Model Development
A business model is a hypothesis. Until someone pays.
Describing how a company creates and earns value, and designing and testing changes or new models. The result is a documented business model with assumptions, revenue logic and validation results.
Usual
What you often get
Colourful sticky notes on a business model canvas, photographed and filed in the project folder. They turn into a concept with market potential and a steep revenue curve. Whether anyone would pay for it, nobody has asked so far.
IntoOps
What you get from us
Before anyone invests, we test the critical assumptions with real customers: in conversations, with offers or pre-sales. What holds up, we implement with pricing, sales and product development. What fails has only cost you the test.
Service components
5 components. Each one available on its own.
-
How the current model works and where it is under pressure.
-
Designing new or changed models and comparing options.
-
Which customer problem is solved and why customers should choose it.
-
Which revenue streams exist and how they are structured.
-
Testing critical assumptions with customers before scaling.
What you'll have at the end. Results you can check.
- A description of your current model with revenue streams, cost drivers and weak points.
- Fully calculated options for a changed or new model, with pros and cons.
- A list of critical assumptions, each with its test, success criterion and result.
- A revenue model with pricing logic and the figures it rests on.
- A decision paper: continue, adapt or drop, backed by the test results.
When you need this. And how you'll know.
- Your core business is slowly shrinking, and what should replace it is still open.
- New competitors sell the same thing as a subscription, as a platform or much cheaper.
- There's an idea for a new offer, but it hasn't been tested yet.
- Your customers ask for service instead of product, and the revenue model doesn't fit.
Rarely alone. Never bundled.
Business Model Development often works together with these services. We'll tell you honestly when a combination makes sense, and when it doesn't.
Shows up in these initiatives.
You don't need a whole initiative to get Business Model Development. These examples show where the service is often needed.
Good questions. Straight answers.
Do you test the assumptions with our actual customers?
Yes, because that's where it shows what holds up. We hold conversations, build simple offers or landing pages and measure who actually takes them up. We agree with you beforehand whom we approach.
Is a business plan included?
Not automatically. We always run the numbers on the revenue model. A full business plan for a bank or funding body comes from our financial models & business plans service.
Is business model development just for start-ups?
No. Established companies in particular come under pressure when markets or technology change. Then the task is to build something new without putting the existing business at risk.
Do you implement the new model too?
Yes. We build prices, sales, processes and systems for the new model with specialists from the other areas. You decide which parts we take on and which stay with your team.
Proof first. Contract second.
In the free Initiative Check, we listen for 45 minutes and ask the questions that usually only come up after the contract is signed. Then you get a short written assessment: what we see, how we would go about it and roughly what it would take.
No obligation. And if we're not the right fit, we'll tell you.
